Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Nonworking Telephones

Got a telephone set with 4 handsets at a garage sale which doesn't work. However, it has a intercom feature so we can call the different handsets, in which case we all are super polite to each other like we're actually on the phone instead of yelling at each other, although we may be in the same room/adjoining rooms.

Strange how changing the form of communication changes the dynamic of communication entirely.

Today I learned #1

That the height needed for my feet to be placed flat on the ground while sitting in band chairs is exactly the height of my flute stand.

I also learned that my flute stand can't stand the weight of my legs.

Conclusion- my flute stand is now damaged. I still need to find something to rest my feet on that doesn't look weird.

How to procrastinate on math

Step 1: Set alarm to insanely early time.

Step 2: When alarm goes off, turn it off and go back to bed.

Step 3: Wake up an hour late, past the time you're supposed to start doing math.

Step 4: Decide that since it's too late for math, you might as well just do biology.

Step 5: Go to music lessons. Play with the teacher's kids instead of doing math.

Step 6:Go on Habitica and attempt to look productive.

Step 7: Get sucked into the vortex of the internet/social media.

Step 8: Turn off computer and head to desk. Decide that your working space is too cluttered, so you have to clean first.

Step 9: While cleaning, come across your take-home biology test.

Step 10: Take your biology test, since you'll have to do it anyways.

Step 11: Have the test signed off by your parent (since it's a take home test), who is downstairs by the kitchen.

Step 12: As you pass through the kitchen, decide you're hungry and eat food.

Step 13: Do Spanish, since you're downstairs anyways.

Step 14: Post a 'How to Procrastinate on Math' tutorial.

Guess who's been following these instructions to the letter?

I may be dyslexic or something

First off, it took me about 8 tries to get the word dyslexic.

My point is, however, that I learned about mitosis, then learned about meiosis in the next chapter and thought I was learning about the same thing for the longest time.

From the Archives of Happy Little Thoughts- Gaah my event preferences for this year are out. (and many sidenotes)

I have CJAP, Bottle Rockets, and Air Trajectory.

The one and only one I want to do is not one of them. :I I seriously JOINED Science Olympiad this year for that event!!!

Steaming at my coach. CJAP's alright I guess. I told him I didn't want to do building unless no one else wanted to do it. Apparently no one else did, and he stuck me with 2. :/ My little brother's stuck with 3 building events. How my brother gets to have more events then I do is something I don't get. :/ The building event count for our family is 5. O_O Only the rule is that it's at least one per family. Gaah. Why doesn't he just give us like 2, one per kid?

This was just an extremely long post/rant about Science Olympiad and my coach in particular. :/

Note to Mr. C., if you ever read this- I am not ranting AT you, I'm just ranting because I want to. :D

Also, on a sidenote, I have a long short story due in <24 hours, and I haven't started it yet.
On a sidenote on a sidenote, I have a hole in my mouth.

The moral of the story is- Don't mess with me right now.

This was last year (2014/15)'s. Stay tuned for this year's.

Boot shopping

I love how boots love....but I'm hideously picky as to what boots I wear. Not too tall, not ankle boots, no heel, not flat, not black, not gray, not THAT shade of brown, and the list goes on.

Got a pair of boots today, though.

From the Archives of Happy Little Thoughts: "So my brother got his first pet" + Updates

, a fish.
My advice? "Better remember its name- credit card companies and other such businesses will want to know it for 'security purposes'"!

RIP fish...

Youtube autoplay

Does anyone else watch YouTube, and when the video ends, click the YouTube logo at the top left to go back to the home page while the auto play circle just keeps filling up and you're just like "Go, internet! I don't watch this next video or else you'll be giving me random video suggestions for the rest of my life!"? No? It's just me? Oh....

Things I learned from the PSAT

Took the PSAT today...'twas pretty interesting.

Things I learned from the PSAT-

• Herminia's mother is fiercely proud of her poetry
• Fredrick Douglass hates 4th of July
• Dogs are sophisticated
• Wolf pups won’t look me in the eye
• Spanish moss is neither Spanish nor moss
• The pens are tilapia, everything is tilapia
• Big nose horn face
• I like fossils
• Some people are actually rich enough to spend ~$50 on cookies and water for lunch.
• Flash in the pan
• Thad
• DELETE the underlined portion

(I didn't come up with these myself, they've been floating around the internet)
Also, the test rules didn't say anything talking about the stuff on the projects, just the problems...so...

you see a picture of an elephant and your subconscious mind tries to place the genus.

To squeeze or not to squeeze

So we use this kind of squeezy fluoride rinse-
There's a little container thing that you squeeze the rinse into to make sure you only use the right amount....and that's always the highlight of the night routine.

To squeeze after you've rinse already for tomorrow, or not to squeeze so that you can squeeze tomorrow....that is the question.

Finally found my type of music.

I couldn't find music that I liked for the longest time. Everyone kept asking me which kind of music I liked to listen too...and I always answered CCM, which I only sorta liked.

Pandora gave me my answer- when I started a Julie Andrews playlist....I've only had to skip about one song- everything else has been FABULOUS- 4/5 Sound of Music songs, 2 Mary Poppins songs, and Over the Rainbow, and many more that I LOVE.

Wrong decision

to paint my toes hot pink all summer while the only pair of flip-flops (AKA the only pair of shoes) I wear all summer is orange.

Tall people, be grateful

Walking in the rain with flats on in too-long-but-cute jeans and soaking the cuffs of the jeans AND the flats. Ugh. Be grateful that you can wear jeans that don't drag on the ground.
